Approaching Family Disagreements with Skill- Holiday Edition!

TON6, 12:00 – 14:00
Spending time with family around the holidays can be nurturing, but why do tension and rupture always sneak their way into our gatherings? With much of our year spent in go-mode and apart from our loved ones, a lot can bubble up when we coalesce around the holidays. Unspoken tensions, longstanding narratives, and old wounds can lead to disagreements. These can feel overwhelming, unmanageable, and even painful- but they don’t have to!
In this workshop, we’ll explore the question: how can we hold both the challenging and nurturing parts of our holiday family dynamics in the same palm? By considering disagreement as something we can approach with skill and a generative mindset–rather than something to be avoided–we hope to bring a bit more ease and enjoyment to time spent with family around the holidays.
Age range: 18+

Pinocchio has now existed for 130 years. After turning into a human, he wanders around to tell his story so that children can learn how difficult life was for poor children without school. Everyone knows his story, right? He is certain that not everything people say is true and wants to tell the truth. But maybe he is the liar?

Through storytelling in the style of Commedia dell’Arte, clowning, and pantomime, Pinocchio takes the audience on a journey – to jump back in time, enjoy the present, and dream of the future!
